Camden County Emergency Management Agency Releases 2020 Hurricane Guide

Camden County’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has released its 2020 Hurricane Guide.

The online guide, available on Camden County’s website at camdencountyga.gov/HurricaneGuide, has information to help local residents prepare for hurricane season.

As a coastal community, that has recently experienced the effects of hurricanes, it is vital for Camden County residents to take a proactive approach to hurricane planning and preparedness measures,” said EMA Director Chuck White. “The 2020 Hurricane Season is anticipated to have above-normal activity and we need to understand that planning may be different this year because of the need to protect ourselves and others from COVID-19. This guide has valuable information to help citizens learn more about what they can do to better prepare for this year’s hurricane season.”

Included in the guide is information about the 2020 Hurricane Forecast, preparing for hurricanes, CodeRED, and preparing for hurricanes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, there is information about hurricane hazards and the Camden County Health Department’s Functional, Access, or Medical Needs Hurricane Registry.
