[ARCHIVED] 2020 Census Efforts Continue in Camden County

Camden County residents are strongly encouraged to cooperate with Census Takers and complete the 2020 Census for their household to ensure Camden County is correctly counted at the State and Federal levels.

“Completing the 2020 Census for your household is one of the easiest and most productive ways to give back to our community,” said Community Engagement & Strategic Planning Manager Claire Feazel. “Every Camden County resident counts equally and all are important for us to reach our goal. As a community, we are tied to these numbers for the next ten years. We are still receiving funding and resources based off of the 2010 Census data.”

Census data is used to determine how over $675 billion in federal funding is distributed annually. Additionally, this data decides representation at the Federal, State, and local level. The U.S. Census Bureau recently announced an earlier end to the self-response period. Camden County residents have until September 30, 2020 to complete the 2020 Census.

Although Census Takers are beginning to visit households and neighborhoods, residents may still complete the 2020 Census online, by phone, or by mail. Any household that needs to complete the 2020 Census may visit my2020census.gov or call 1-844-330-2020. More information, including links to an informational copy of the questionnaire (PDF), are available at: camdencountyga.gov/census.
