Petie Kemp Achieves Commercial Building Inspector Certification

The Camden County Board of Commissioners is pleased to recognize Ernest “Petie” Kemp for achieving Commercial Building Inspector Certification through the International Code Council (ICC). 

Petie Kemp“Petie is an asset to our Planning & Development Department,” said County Administrator Shawn M. Boatright. “We are proud of his dedication to improving his knowledge to provide excellent service to the citizens of Camden County.”

Mr. Kemp joined the Planning & Development Department as the Building Inspector in July 2020 and has achieved Residential Building Inspector, Residential Plumbing Inspector, Residential Electrical Inspector, Residential Mechanical Inspector, Residential Combination Inspector, Commercial Building Inspector, and Building Inspector Certifications though the ICC. 

“I am extremely proud of Petie’s efforts to achieve these certifications,” said Planning & Development Director Joey Yacobacci. “Petie is Camden County’s first ICC Certified Commercial Building Inspector.” 

The International Code Council is the leading global source of model codes and standards and building safety solutions that include product evaluation, accreditation, technology, training, and certification. The Code Council's codes, standards, and solutions are used to ensure safe, affordable, and sustainable communities and buildings worldwide.

The Camden County Planning & Development Department administers all codes as they relate to building and zoning in unincorporated Camden County. The office is located in the Camden County Annex Building in Kingsland.
