Attention Camden County residents:
Please be advised that the Humane Society of Camden County (HSCC) has made the decision to cancel their contract with Camden County, effective immediately. We received notice from the HSCC on Friday afternoon, June 30, 2023, that as of the close of business that day HSCC would no longer honor the contractual agreement as approved on June 27, 2023. Efforts continue from the Board of Commissioners to discuss partnership opportunities with HSCC, however these efforts have been unsuccessful due to no response from HSCC. No communication from HSCC has been returned to discuss modifications, additions or mutually beneficial arrangements to the agreement.
As efforts continue to find a resolution to this challenge, please note that the Animal Control Office will have limited services to provide to the community due to this cancellation of needed and valued services. The Board of Commissioners are actively working to identify solutions with community partners and neighboring counties to provide these services to the lost and homeless pets of Camden County. In the meantime, in case of an emergency such as, a vicious dog or cat, please contact the Animal Control office at (912) 576-7395.
