Upon recommendation by County Administrator and Spaceport Camden Project Lead, Steve Howard, the Board of County Commissioners unanimously voted to add Dr. John E. Bradford, Jane Kinney, and Anthony J. Piplica to the Education and Workforce Subcommittee.
Dr. John E. Bradford is the President and Chief Operating Officer for SpaceWorks Enterprises, Inc.; Jane Kinney is the Assistant Director of the Commercial Spaceflight Federation; and Anthony J. Piplica is the Chief Executive Officer for Generation Orbit. All three new subcommittee members represent the space commerce community and their presence will add to the workforce component of the committee’s duties.
These new members join Chairperson Laura Forczyk and Adon Clark, Paige Coker, Dr. Shawn T. Cruzen, Dr. Glenn Deibert, Bill Garlen, Lisa Gleason, Leo C. Melody, Millie Price, Lonnie Roberts, Pete Snell, Jessica Warren, and Dr. James R. Wilburn on the subcommittee.
“The wealth of knowledge these members bring to the already wide-ranging experience of the Spaceport Camden Education and Workforce Subcommittee is a tribute to the importance of this opportunity,” said County Administrator and Spaceport Camden Project Lead Steve Howard. “This subcommittee’s work is critical to ensuring that Camden County residents are able to take advantage of the new job prospects in the aerospace industry and that we can continue to provide world class talent to space operators.”
The Spaceport Camden Education and Workforce Subcommittee has been tasked with identifying the needs of future spaceport users’ education and recommending K-12, technical college, and post-secondary curricula to prepare Georgia students for careers at Spaceport Camden. The subcommittee will develop a list of recommendations that Camden County will share with elected and appointed officials at local school boards, the Georgia General Assembly, and the University System of Georgia.
