With the theme of “Disasters Happen; Prepare Now; Learn How,” the goal of National Preparedness Month is to increase the overall number of individuals, families, and communities that engage in preparedness actions at home, work, business, school, and places of worship.
“We want to encourage all Camden County residents to plan and prepare for emergency situations,” said Camden County EMA Director Chuck White. “Hurricanes Matthew and Irma have shown us the importance of everyone taking proactive steps to ensure their safety and the safety of their family.”
This year, all Camden County residents are encouraged to:
- Make and Practice Your Plan,
- Learn Life Saving Skills,
- Check Your Insurance Coverage, and
- Save For an Emergency.
Specific information and tips will be posted throughout the month on the Camden County EMA’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. Camden County residents looking for more information on how to prepare, plan and stay informed about natural and man-made disasters can visit www.camdencountyga.gov/ema, www.ready.ga.gov, or www.ready.gov.
