Camden County Board of Commissioners, Camden County Sheriff’s Office, and Camden County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) officials are partnering with the cities of Kingsland, St. Marys, and Woodbine, along with Camden County Schools, Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay Emergency Management, and the National Weather Service (NWS) to determine potential impacts of Hurricane Florence on our community.
All Camden County residents are urged to sign-up for the CodeRED Emergency Notification System on the Camden County website, www.camdencountyga.gov. This is a high speed Communication Service available for mass Emergency Notifications. CodeRED is critical during situations like this as a direct method of communication from Camden County EMA to your landline, cell phone, or email. TDD/TTY service is also available. Participants will be notified in the event of emergency situations or critical community alerts.
“Now is the time for Camden County residents to review their hurricane plans and closely monitor the still-changing weather conditions,” said Chuck White, Camden County EMA Director. “It appears that Hurricane Florence’s strongest impacts will remain north of Camden County, but the exact timing and path may still change.”
All local residents should monitor Camden County Website, Camden County EMA Facebook and Camden County EMA Twitter for updates.
