At their October 1, 2019, regular meeting, the Camden County Board of Commissioners recognized Sergeant Jay Thames of the Camden County Sheriff's Office as Employee of the Quarter.
This selection was made by the Camden County Government Employee Recognition Committee after receiving nominations from Camden County employees.
Sgt. Thames’ co-workers highlighted his leadership abilities, community interaction, and work as a K-9 Handler as reasons for his recognition. Deputy Brad Marat shared, “He leads by example. Because of him, we have an entire shift of leaders and not just a supervisor and employees under him.”
Sgt. Thames has worked for the Camden County Sheriff’s Office for over ten years and currently serves as a sergeant in the Patrol Division. Additionally, he acts as part of the Camden County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit alongside K-9 Hannah, a six year-old bloodhound.
